Cold day in forest (Grief for my late friend Ivan) by Tomáš Pačes Genesis 6: 5- 7 The LORD saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. The LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain. So the LORD said, "I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth—men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air—for I am grieved that I have made them."
Oh how we must cause pain to our Father when the thoughts of our heart are evil all the time. Lord God, help me to live as you would have me live. I long for you to delight in me as your daughter, not grieve that you have made me.

He does delight in you Jill. You are an entirely new creature in Christ; loved by God, welcomed into his family. You may even call Him 'Abba', the very name God's own son, the Lord Jesus, used of his heavenly father.
As Paul says, "For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father." 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory" (Rom. 8:15-17).
